Starke Teak Clean is a professional two-part cleaner and brightener for grey, weathered teak that has lost its luster. Tough on stains and formulated to be gentle on caulk seams, the system restores teak to a natural golden brown.

• Part A – Cleaner (TEAKCA128): alkaline (caustic) sodium hydroxide cleaner that lifts weathering and staining from the grain.
• Part B – Brightener (TEAKCB128): hydrochloric acid brightener that neutralizes Part A on the wood and restores color.
• Part A + Part B Kit (TKC-AB): both parts for a complete clean-and-brighten cycle.

Directions

1. Wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye/face protection. Wet the teak and all surrounding gel coat, paint and hardware.
2. Pour Part A into its own bucket. Use full strength or dilute up to 4:1 with water. With the wood still wet, apply Part A with a brush or scouring pad and scrub lightly in a circular motion against the grain.
3. Once the surface turns blackish, allow 2–3 minutes of dwell. If the caulk lines are throwing off a lot of black, hose the teak off before applying Part B.
4. Using a separate bucket and brush/pad, rub Part B into the same teak. Part A is alkaline and Part B is acidic; they neutralize each other, and that reaction must happen on the wood, never in a bucket or on a brush. Using both parts is what returns the teak to a natural golden brown.
5. Rinse the teak and all surrounding surfaces thoroughly with fresh water.

Safety

DANGER – Corrosive. Both Part A and Part B cause severe skin burns and eye damage and may be corrosive to metals. Never mix Part A and Part B in a container; store them separately in their original packaging. Rinse stainless, other metals and painted surfaces immediately after applying Part B, and do not let either part dry on them. Read the Safety Data Sheets before use: SYC-032 v1.2 (Part A – Cleaner) and SYC-031 v1.2 (Part B – Brightener).
