The name is new. The expertise is not.

If you’ve been detailing boats for a while, chances are you already know the name Presta Marine.

For years, Presta Marine built a reputation for professional-grade marine detailing products trusted by detailers, boaters, and marine professionals. Now, that familiar name is entering a new chapter.

Presta Marine is now Malco Marine.

And while the name and packaging are changing, the brand is clear about what isn’t: the trusted formulas, professional performance, and U.S.-based manufacturing remain.

From Presta Marine to Malco Marine

The rebrand brings Presta Marine under the Malco Marine name as part of the larger Malco Products family.

For customers who already know Presta, this isn't a completely new product line. Malco Marine describes the transition as a new name and new look built around the same expertise and formulas that professionals have relied on.

The updated lineup features new product names aligned around specific uses, modernized labels and packaging, and a focus on making the products more accessible to detailers nationwide.

One example is Presta Marine HydroProtek Ceramic Coating, which is now Malco Marine HydroProtek Ceramic Spray — a new name and look while maintaining the same formula.

So if you see a product you recognize from Presta suddenly showing up in Malco Marine packaging, don't worry. You're looking at the next chapter of the same product legacy.

A Legacy That Goes Beyond Marine Detailing

While Malco Marine is a newer name, the company behind it has been developing professional products for decades.

Malco Products was founded in 1953 by Murray Glauberman and has grown into a fourth-generation family business serving the automotive, marine, recreational vehicle, and consumer markets.

Today, Malco Products operates three manufacturing facilities, employs more than 250 people, and serves customers in more than 70 countries. Malco Marine products are manufactured in the USA and are backed by that larger history of chemistry, manufacturing, and professional product development.

The marine side of the business has continued to focus on products made specifically for life on the water — helping professionals and boat owners clean, restore, and protect vessels from bow to stern.

Built for the Entire Detailing Process

Malco Marine's product portfolio covers much more than polishing.

The current line includes boat washes, all-purpose and specialty cleaners, compounds, polishes, waxes, ceramic coatings, vinyl and plastic care, buffing pads, and other detailing essentials.

That gives detailers the ability to build a complete workflow around the brand — from cleaning and surface preparation to correction, finishing, and protection.

Clean

Products like HydroFoam Ultra Concentrated Boat Wash, Deck & Surface All Purpose Cleaner, VIP Vinyl & Plastic Cleaner, and X-14 Marine products are designed to tackle the cleaning side of marine maintenance.

Restore

For correction work, Malco Marine offers a dedicated lineup of compounds and polishes, including:

• SuperCut Compound

• Gel Coat Compound

• MaxComplete Cutting Compound

• MaxProduction Compound

• MaxFinishing Polish

The lineup is designed to address everything from heavier correction and oxidation removal to final finishing and gloss refinement.

The MaxFinishing Polish, for example, is an all-in-one polish and swirl remover designed for gelcoat, fiberglass, and select painted surfaces, delivering a high-gloss, swirl-free finish after compounding.

Protect

Once the surface has been restored, Malco Marine offers several ways to protect the finish.

HydroProtek Ceramic Spray provides a ceramic-based protection option, while ShieldPro UV Creme Wax and Nano Cleaner Wax offer additional options for maintaining gloss and protection.

In general, ceramic coating on a boat lasts for up to 12 to 24 months given the proper care and maintenance. That’s also assuming that the preparation and application was done correctly. However, this is a very difficult question to answer because there is a wide array of answers that can be given based on three factors.
